Zyxel G 202 Driver Download

I got this to boost wireless speeds on my older 'G'-equipped laptop. Paired with a Zyxel 300Mbps wireless access point (WAP3205) I am getting surprisingly good throughput speeds (above 7MB/s sustained occasionally but usually 5.5MB/s-6.5MB/s). There is a trick, though. Plugged directly into the computer, speeds were unpredictable. I then used the stiff 6' USB extension cable (included) to get the wireless bug away from the laptop chassis and it now works consistently. You may want to bend the extension into different positions to experiment. Unlike another reviewer I found that Windows 7 will locate and download the Zyxel driver (plug it into the machine while your old connection is still active) so no additional software installation was necessary. This option is better since Zyxel's software includes a connection manager that duplicates features already present in Windows 7 and above. I've been using this wireless bug for over a week and have never had it drop a connection. If your N router or access point is rated at 300Mbps, this seems to be the perfect choice. If your router is rated at 150Mbps, other units (such as the Zyxel NWD2105 or Trendnet TEW-648UB) are more affordable.
